Internet connectivity is no longer a luxury for business or personal use but a requirement for life. Everything we do either directly or indirectly will use the Internet.

This growth in Internet connectivity has created an expectation for business and personal users to interact on a more frequent basis. In order to enable this interaction, Manufacturers, Network Operators, and other leading figures have created the Wi-Fi Alliance so that Wi-Fi could develop into a worldwide solution based on one technology standard.

Wi-Fi works by connecting a WiFi enabled device (Computer, phone etc) to a Wireless Access Point (WAP or AP). This in turn is connected to a network or the Internet. One of the obvious advantages of this connection is that is does not require wires, thus enabling users maximum accessibility and ease of use. Initially this system was predominantly used for private or business use, however the growth of Public Access Points has now made connecting to the Internet whilst away from your home network, or whilst traveling, possible.
